Assessment criteria

· Experienced and experimented with of a range of practical skills and methods. especially in sculpture as more of a variety of materials was on offer, allot of my images i think they can be translated through a variety of media
· Used a range of research and material gathering processes to support and develop your project work, through evidence provided in sketchbooks and research folders.  yes, mostly internet as it is most convenient, library books, articles, and exhibitions
· Begun to develop your intellectual, critical and evaluative skills in relation to your project work. when developing continuous decisions have to be made which involve being evaluative about my work
· Begun to develop and realise ideas in oral form – this will be considered during the assessment process.

needs to be worked on a little bit, in front of tutors its not too bad but i got very nervous for the presentations

ambitions.kind of

next year- to learn and do more printing techniques, hopefully we will have more workshops,want to do photo prints,more etching, acid thing, colour and screen, and there's probably more i do not know about , I dont want to rule out working in any of paint, drawing ect. but we have to start coming to conclusions to what medium to work in predominantly, i want to get better at painting as i used to do it quite well and obviously drawing is essential for anything.

in the summer- maybe think about textiles as i will be starting it new in year 2, look at textiles work i done before and learn some new techniques like knitting, experiment with others and start to think about what my project could be based on as i will have to stick to it for the whole year! things i have done this year in art can easily be translated into textiles i think.

Photoshop
I had used this before but always good to be shown again what tools are for what and what can be achieved using the software. Some tools I had not been shown before like the clone stamp tool, gradient and the mask tool. I practiced using some of these on some photos.

I want to get better at this! There is probably so many things that can be achieved using digital manipulation that I still don’t know how to do and most things I did took me some time.


Panoramic
Something ive not done before either. I found it annoying and tricky to line up the images in Photoshop and hard to match up the colours, contrast and brightness in each of them as some single photos were exposed to more light than others. I experimented with mirroring too and using the transform tool I rotated a few to get a abstract landscape. I would probably do more of this!

Old camera

Another first-using a non-digital camera with a film. Luckily I got the light right by using the aperture and not using in the dark for my film to turn out fine. Some of them were better than others and some needed to be developed differently than others with variety of exposure to the photo paper. Hopefully after this I will feel comfortable enough to develop more films without help, just using the instructions to direct me. When it came to dodging and burning more interesting images could be made. I also realised with analogue more mistakes can be made and you could risk ruining film if it is not developed properly or not taken with the right light to begin with, whereas with digital you know what your getting , the outcome is direct.

repetition idea

 My first idea for the project brief: take 5 black and white photos using unrelated objects creating a relationship that was not already there.

so I took some objects I found around the house which were unrelated-sweets,bottles,ties,shoes, I guess they can be related some of them in some ways but I wanted to relate them through photographing them in repetition.

 I prefer the coloured ones but putting the contrast in black and white looks quite nice.

 looking at the patterns created as an outcome of placing single objects in multiples together in repetition. Where the negative space is left around the outlines of the objects it creates other shapes that are not there if placed singly.

 after this I thought of the idea of creating relationships through reflection instead which turned out better, I could try this idea again maybe

my first print this year turned out quite well,dry point intaglio ink etching into the plate

 the white line was where there was some ink on the plate before i etched into it, whipe this off after the this to get a cleaner outcome of the one above

idea note

just an idea to do a series of my own dot to dots which make up brill images,people could join the dots ups(like in a gallery,or get friends to do them,results could end up different with different peoples mark making,material they use or if they make any mistakes or if i number some joints rong or say if some are unumbered and the image created comes from the path they choose to draw
thought id write this down on here so i dont forget about it rather than if it was on a piece of paper,
hope this is as good as an idea when i do it (if i do) when i get round to it
